Hacking Health Vancouver 2014

Health care marches forward into the digital age in an effort to keep up with advances in technology that make our lives easier and better. But there still stands many barriers in the way of adopting and implementing new technology into existing health care practices. That’s where Hacking Health (http://hackinghealth.ca) comes into play!

Hacking Health bridges the gap between medical practitioners and developers/designers to act as a catalyst for technology innovation on the healthcare landscape.  This year they are bringing their world famous Hackathon back to Vancouver June 1-3, 2014 (http://www.hackinghealth.ca/events/vancouver/hhvancouver2014/)  at the Vancouver Convention centre in partnership with the e-Health conference 2014.

The unique approach allows techies and non-techies to come together to solve front line problems facing healthcare today. In the course of only a few days projects are able to come to life and practitioners can start using the tools once the event is over.

How does it all work? Well, on the first night, anyone interested in pitching an idea for a product or service gives a short informal speech to the rest of the attendees about their vision. Afterwards interested participants ask questions to those who pitched and form teams for the following day. Day two, HACK! Designers, health care practitioners, and developers work hard and fast to develop working prototypes of their software, devices, and apps. Day 3, show off all that hard work for a chance to win some prizes and celebrate the impact we have made in the advancement of healthcare and technology.

If you have an idea or just want to be part of something great come join Hacking Health (http://www.hackinghealth.ca/events/vancouver/hhvancouver2014/) at e-Health this June for an experience like no other. Have questions? We have answers! Send us an email (mailto: contact@hackinghealth.ca)
