The e-Health Showcase has been a centre piece of the conference exhibit floor since 2007. In the early days the focus was on demonstrating standards-based interoperability and thereby bringing Canada Health Infoway’s EHR Blueprint to life. Visitors were treated to real-world scenarios showing how commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions could be integrated through an onsite Health Information Access Layer (HIAL) infrastructure.

Over the years this model has been refined and expanded to show more vendors, more solutions and different takes on the various scenarios. Starting last year, we began the shift to a more experiential show following the patient’s journey through different settings in the health system.

The Showcase includes two streams:

Jurisdictional Success Stories jurisdictions and health care facilities across Canada Showcase and celebrate the successful implementation of an innovation solution within their jurisdiction.

Patient Stories For the 2015 Showcase we are featuring Maureen, an active 62 year old and recently retired. On a hiking trip, she experienced a fall that resulted in a fractured right hip. Her injury sent her on a journey through the health care system. Experience Maureen’s journey, through innovative demos, success stories, and examples of implementation.

This year’s themes are:

Patient-centred solutions – Discover how specific tools provide information that work to improve Maureen’s health.

Continuity of care solutions – Discover how the movement of Maureen’s health information ensures quality care.

Health analytics - Discover how Maureen's health information provides value to the health care system.

On behalf of all of the dedicated volunteer members of the Showcase Planning Committee, I would like to cordially welcome you to e-Health 2015 and invite you to visit this year’s Showcase. Please come to experience the stories and talk with our participants about their solutions and implementation journeys.
